Genshin Impact Hero Wars Raid: Shadow Legends Tentlan Titan Revenge
Kings and Legends

Kings and Legends

Kings and Legends is a card trading game with some city building elements. Its played in the browser. Players start with a measly deck and try getting new, better cards to duke their opponents with. Four classes and card types add greatly to the games diversityand so does the lane fighting system. Theres also a storyline that can keep you interested, especially since you can get new cards in story-related PvE. The games city building aspect is important as it can help you get better cards. Group battles are available as well in addition to regular PvP card duels. Each player has a hero that can use skills, and the game is over once one of the heroes is dead. The game manages to mix RPG, strategy and card game elements into one coherent mass. High-level players will have to compete for godlike cards, which are very rare unless bought.

Kings Era

Kings Era

Kings Era is an MMO strategy game with cash prizes. Choose a resource-specific class and endow your city with buildings, troops and heroes.

Kings Era has some quirky innovations that spice things upbuilding times are slow, but you can level up your heroes with board games or hunting (its in 3D! 3D!) while youre waiting. The main emphasis here is on competition as servers last for up to 9 months until a winner surfaces. If youre lucky you can loot barbarian camps and cash in rare items. Alliances are allowed and encouraged but at a certain point youll be left to your own devices.

Paying players will have much better odds to score some treasure and perchance even battle for the grand prize. However, if you can convince some friends to join, who knowsmaybe its friendship, not money, that has a better chance in Kings Era.

KingsAge

KingsAge

KingsAge is a strategy MMO set in medieval times. Players take control of a village, expand, form an army, and gain loyal followers to make a name for themselves in the world. This strategy plays similarly to Ikariam or Tribal Wars, but KingsAge doesn’t seem nearly as populated, and the beginning of the game feels somewhat slow. Just like in the games mentioned, players can hold quite a number of villages -- the management of which can get a little time consuming. To do the game justice, however, it should be noted that KingsAge, with all its weaknesses, is a fun war strategy where collaboration (and other, more violent forms of interaction) with other players becomes more rewarding past the slow start.

Knight's Fable

Knight's Fable

Knight’s Fable is a browser-based MMORPG set in an anime-inspired fantasy world. It features a rich game world and a rather casual gameplay.

The game features four classes, two for each sex, but the character can be changed later on while keeping the stats. Knight’s Fable requires the player to click for quests and skill upgrades (as well as the various side activities like fishing, clearing dungeons, and escorting cargo), but the rest of the game happens automatically. Most of the player’s success is based on the Battle Rating, gained by leveling up or finding/enchanting equipment. The story, once it eases out of the numerous damsel-in-distress scenarios, actually captivates and is light enough not to overwhelm. Of course social features like pets, parties and the likes are featured here as well.

Even though one might deem Knight’s Fable to be a needless addition to a vast array of similar games, it’s actually better than most of the pack. The story is decent, the game doesn’t push you to buy anything, and last but not least there’s just an abundance of things to do.

League of Angels

League of Angels

League of Angels (LoA) is a browser-based fantasy MMORPG with turn-based combat and ridiculously beautiful artwork.

Players choose from one of two classes and walk about to get to know the games mechanics and the eclectic lore of the League of Angels world, helping angels regain their former glory by setting them free from the dark forces that haunt them. The freed angels become valuable battle companions. Theres an abundance of things to do (crafting, quests, dungeons and PvP), and although the combat cannot be controlled in the battlefield, a good formation can beat a stronger opponent. At later levels, however, players may find that they cannot do much daily besides two or three quests, all due to an annoying stamina system. For what its worth, LoA also sports detestable amounts of fan service.

On the one hand, LoA plays just like Wartune and similar titles, the likes of which have sprung up like mushrooms after heavy rainfall; on the other, it has some interesting features like the boss board games. Plus the PvP is quite exciting, as are the graphics. LoA might very well prove to be a disappointment, but it does have its strong points.

Legacy of Discord

Legacy of Discord

From the publishers of the League of Angels series and Magerealm comes Legacy of Discord: Furious Wings, a 3D isometric dungeon crawler similar in style to Blizzard's Diablo 3.

Players begin their quest for shiny, legendary loot and eternal PvP dominance by selecting one of three available gender-locked classes: the giant-sword-wielding Berserker, the speedy Bladedancer or the spell-chucking Sorceress. Combat is graphically flashy and fairly fast-paced, with a focus on class abilities and combo chaining. Equipment farming and refining are crucial aspects in Legacy of Discord and will determine how far you can go in both PvE and PvP endeavors.

There's the usual PvE fare in the form of storyline quests and boss battle challenges, but these ultimately take a backseat to the game's PvP options, which are basically the game's selling point. PvP can be done in a 1v1 arena, a 5v5 team battle, or a massive scale guild wars setting. Competitive gamers wanting to stick around and participate in higher rungs of PvP must be ready with a substantial cash investment if they want to dominate their foes in the game. Otherwise, the experience going forward will be a long, frustrating uphill battle. Non-paying players beware unless they have a thing for endless grinding and battling against the odds.

Lord of Ultima

Lord of Ultima (LoU) is a surprisingly fun strategy MMO, played in the browser. The story isnt much, but its fantasy setting does hold some allure. The game starts with you holding a city with a set amount of resources, and using them efficiently is a hard task. LoU isn't especially original, as the basic gameplay isnt different from similar games Evony, Ikariam, and others -- at all. However, the game is full of opportunities for clever strategic tricks, for example, with the city layout or the army unit mix. The military strategy is thought-through and adds further depth to this game which can indeed become more than a simple time-sink. Lord of Ultima shut down in 2015, but the fans remade it, as Crown of the Gods.

Lucent Heart is a 3D fantasy MMORPG with an anime influence and loads of social features. Players can choose from two base classes warrior and mage and two sub-classes for each, at level 10. Players get bonuses and abilities that are dependent on their zodiac signs. The combat is somewhat dull, but social gaming is greatly rewarded through added experience gain for couples, additional accessories, etc. Quests flow nicely, and casual gamers particularly will enjoy the find monster and find NPC options. Overall, Lucent Heart is a nice game -- if you dont mind the graphics. The story does have its appeal (you dont see Greek mythology/anime crossovers much, perhaps not at all), the social features arent bad, and the extras like battle pets, and crafting, make Lucent Heart a hearty experience for anyone looking for a fun, casual game.

Might and Magic Heroes Online

Might and Magic Heroes Online

Might and Magic Heroes Online (MMHO) is a 2.5D MMORPG/Strategy played in the browser. Its developed by Ubisoft and features the original HOMM world of Ashan.

MMHO has the player choose between two classes of two factions (so there are four classes altogether) and battle it out with NPC and player opponents in turn-based battles that demand quite some skill. Players have a hero and some basic units to start with and later on get a town for producing new types of units. Players progress fairly linearly, with quests introducing them to the various parts of the game. The greatly detailed world looks stunning and atmospheric, with some random loot lying around as well; however, the detail sometimes takes its toll on the UI, which responds slowly at times.

MMHO is definitely a title worth trying; especially so if the desktop Heroes of Might & Magic games saw you ladder with your friends for weeks on end. The cash shop seems quite democratic as well, as you can really do without it if youre not dead set to reach the top ranks on your server. Other than the lack of player customization and the clunky UI, theres surprisingly little bad that can be said about this game.

In order to do that, however, players have to purchase a paid subscription. The game has some innovative features like mentorship, which encourages experienced players to aid newbies; moreover, My Lands promotes social play through social quests and alliances. The developers probably wanted to spark competition (and earn more money) by introducing cash prizes, and rightfully so, as it seems that the cash incentive has made the game fiercely competitive within the paying community, at least. (Update: as of April 2017, My Lands no longer allows players to withdraw cash prizes from the game.)

Mythic Reign

Mythic Reign

Mythic Reign is a text-based RPG, played in the browser. It’s set in the dark world of Ozryn and has players fight for their share of the land. The game features many areas to text-plore (sorry!), sports ample opportunities for character development, and even hosts role playing forums and chat rooms.

Characters can be customized, allowing players to choose from 12 intricate classes and 4 elements, which play a great role in the PvP. The basics of the game are introduced with a long quest list, helping players shape their character by way of learning experience and skills, gathering resources and joining leagues, chats and forums. There’s certainly a lot to do in Mythic Reign after the initial quest chain. The story gets introduced gradually and is told in bits and pieces, the pace of which players can control. The game world is ample and interesting.

Mythic Reign is a rather intricate RPG and players who appreciate text-based games will surely like it. It has ample opportunities for socializing and, even if there’s no mass appeal in it, the game has a degree of polish uncharacteristic for such titles.

Mythic Saga

Mythic Saga

Mythic Saga is an isometric MMORPG played in the browser. The setting is a weird mash-up of Chinese culture, Greek myths and the western canon; for example, get a load of this -- one evil character is the Marquis de Sade! Besides the four classes (Warrior, Assassin, Mage, and Priest), three factions, which only matter for the side youll take during PvP, are available. Character customization doesnt quite hit the mark. Auto questing and combat make the gaming experience casual, at least during the beginning levels. The experience rate is very high. Mythic Saga features lots of different, imaginative mounts and plenty of crafting. Players who enjoy trading will also have things to do in Mythic Saga as the auction house is available. Selling and buying gear is convenient due to a simple gear level system. The story is at times cute and at times frustrating because of the often awkward translation.

The game sports five (quite generic) classes, many more professions and impressive freedom in character customization. Common RPG features such as companions, grinding-based quests and numerous instances are to be found here. They offer little that's unique but are solidly implemented. Its true that fans of Neverwinter Nights are likely to be disappointed no great lore and story immersion above the bare minimum here but the Neverwinter MMORPG is definitely worth trying. Despite its flaws one can very well call it a great hack-n-slash game: impeccable combat, nice graphics and a game-changer called the Foundry, an interface where players can create their own adventures for others to play and rate them.

The game has an awesome pet system – you can capture mobs when they are down to low HP, level together with them, and use them in combat. You can build your own house, buy furniture, and invite friends to visit. Combat in NosTale is rather uneventful; PvP is interesting, though. Overkings

OverKings is a fantasy MMORPG, played in the browser. The game is set in a mythological world, and its lore is fine, actually, revolving around a world in chaos after a struggle between two great heroes, caused by the vicious hero Nameless. There are eight character classes (warriors, healers, wizards – the usual). There are plenty of PvP and PvE opportunities as well as quests in OverKings, but most of the quests are along the lines of the usual “kill this” and “bring that”. OverKings is instance-based, and you have to explore the game world to find mobs to fight. Path of Exile

Path of Exile

Path of Exile (PoE) is an action RPG similar to Diablo II. It was pronounced game of the year by Gamespot and RPG of the year by IGN in 2013.

PoE is staggeringly simple in terms of gameplay yet amazingly complex as far as the item and skill systems go. Players choose from six classes, unlocking a seventh one after they’ve played the game through on normal difficulty, and rather mold than ‘build’ their character as the game unfolds. The dark and cryptic backstory of the Wraeclast world slips by all but unnoticed while players hack their way through hordes of undead; once you stop to take a breather, however, it hits you with all the jaw-dropping complexity of the world, but the intricate skill system and item-based economy make room for endless variety in terms of how you look and play. Potions regenerate over time, tweaking the already immersive combat a bit further.

To top all that, PoE features a cash shop that only houses items that have a cosmetic effect, yet somehow the developers are turning a profit. Definitely try PoE if you’ve heard of Diablo or have played and liked a hack’n’slash title.

Pit of War

Pit of War

Pit of War (PoW) is an exciting browser-based MMORPG in which players compete as gladiators in the pits of the dreadful fantasy world called Great Realm.

Success in PoW depends on mastering the intricacies of the gladiatorsthere are three distinct classes of theseand finding the best strategy to cut through opponents. PoW is text-only so the fights are auto-played according to your strategy. Battling players or computer-controlled champions will provide money, spent on new weapons or gladiators. PoW looks splendid with oh-so-serious visuals that pertain to the backstory as well as gory images accompanying battle reports. The interface is flawless, skill-trees add near unlimited variety and theres always something to doplayers can participate in unranked fights for epic gear or complete daily quests for experience and items.

PoW is truly an amazing experience, somehow managing to bring the excitement of a more immersive game type, say 3D hacknslash, to the browser. The only real complaint is that trophies, the games premium currency, give a very real edge to paying players still you can always complete some surveys.
