WarFrame

WarFrame

Warframe is a 3rd person shooter MMO with RPG elements. Become a space ninja by donning a titular Warframe suit. Shoot the big guns, walk the walls, and slide towards the enemy on your knees in order to slash him in half with a katana.

The story takes place in the solar system and, even if its not a very important part of the game, it presents a solid mix of aliens, zombies and humanoids. Warframes are, as it was said, ninja suits. Each of these has special abilities that define the wearers combat role. Warframe sports huge computer-generated levels that are best played through in co-op. Players can craft items by purchasing blueprints and finding their components, or alternatively buy the weapons and warframes for hard cash.

You should probably try Warframe. Despite that many condemn the slow pace of acquiring new gear (as well as its exorbitant pricing), the gameplay more than makes up for it. Theres just something strangely addictive and adrenaline-pumping in this game, even if it can be unappealing on paper.

Wartune

Wartune

Wartune is a turn-based MMORPG with a fantasy setting and some RTS elements like city management. The backstory, as well as graphics, borrows a lot from Blizzard’s titles – the very first monster encounter is a ‘Tauren’ and the game’s locations are at times identical to those of Diablo. There are three main character classes with well-developed skill trees. The game world is quite beautiful, and exploring it offers hours of fun even if it can be made overly easy with the auto quest feature. The game’s gear-based combat can sometimes be confusing when, for example, thousands of units are represented by at most two; but visuals are impressive. Dungeons, bosses and PvP arenas add to the sometimes bland and derivative gameplay.

Wizard 101

Wizard 101

Wizard 101 is a colorful MMORPG designed for kids. There are seven classes which are actually different branches of magic the new wizard can choose from -- Fire, Ice, Storm, Myth, Life, Death, and Balance. The game world is humorous and filled with witty quests. Wizard 101 features parent accounts that allow parents to control their childrens accounts; for example, parents can disable incoming messages for their child's account. The combat is card-based and requires a lot of strategy as its important to get a well-balanced card deck. Altogether, Wizard 101 offers a great experience even for gaming veterans, but the paid features offer too much content for pure Free2Play to be viable. The games a great gift if your kids fancy Harry Potter.

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft

The game that set the standard for modern role playing games on the internet now lets you play for free until your character reaches level twenty. World of Warcraft is famous for its party instances and seamless landscapes, providing one of the richest player experiences that RPG games have to offer.

Earlier levels require the same repetitive actions (grinding) as other RPGs to help level up your character to get to the real fun of WOW -- entering dungeons and raids across the world of Azeroth in cooperation with fellow players.

Winged mounts are available to ferry you for a small fee, but you have to travel to those destinations first by foot before you can get there via the skies.

Select from fifteen different professions. Whatever profession you choose, your goods will pay off quickly in useful items or currency from online auctions.

You have ten classes to choose from when creating a character (including the newly created Death Knight available after the release of the Cataclysm expansion). Classes have different roles in the game world of Azeroth, and if you’ve never played a massively multiplayer rpg before, you will quickly learn about the strengths of combining these roles for battling in groups. Tanks take the brunt of the damage from enemy attack, while damage dealers (both melee and from a distance) deliver their payloads. During the battle, healers make sure that comrades keep their health. More than half of the classes allow you to play multiple roles in party battle. Be sure to check out the class guide before hopping in so you get the kind of battle experience you are looking for.

World of Warships

World of Warships

Relive the legendary naval battles of World War II in Wargaming's action-packed World of Warships. Command the era's most destructive implement of warfare – the naval warship – and lead your team to domination. As with Wargaming's earlier historical combat MMO World of Tanks, World of Warships features tier-ranked vehicle and technology systems. The game has four ship classes to choose from. Destroyers are the smallest ships and function as stealthy scouts and torpedo-launching ambushers. Cruisers are versatile ships, capable of providing reliable shelling and anti-air defense. Battleships are slow, heavily armored juggernauts that can deal massive damage at the cost of low accuracy and lengthy reloads. Aircraft Carriers are unique in that they send out airplanes that can scout quickly, engage enemy fighters, and harass ships with bombs and torpedoes. Customization is available for all ships in the form of different equipment modules. Ship captains can also be trained in a variety of skills to increase the performance of their commandeering. World of Warships's gameplay is very similar to Wargaming's other MMO offerings. Teams start at opposite ends of a sortie map and scout their way to enemy contact. Afterwards, bombardment commences. Coordinated teamwork is essential in achieving victory, as going "Rambo into the fray" will most likely result in getting sunk quickly. Overall, World of Warships is a solid, graphically-pleasing, historical naval combat MMO with the same, tried-and-tested depth and polish as you would expect of the Wargaming devs. Give it a shot if you're hankering for some good, old-fashioned naval warfare.

Zombies Ate My Pizza

Zombies Ate My Pizza

Zombies Ate My Pizza is a top-down 2D shooter by R2Games. Fight your way through ever growing hordes of pizza-hungry zombies with numerous weapons, guided by the smell of the delicious, cheese-topped crust.

Now you probably aren’t looking for a story in a game with a title like this, but just so you know the pizza theme isn’t really important here. The dialogues feature silly humor that doesn’t quite hit the mark, but the younger players may get a few laughs out of it. Players run through rather repetitive and short levels of zombies that attack you melee, from afar, or with special abilities. The combat is rather fun and there’s a lot of handholding until the later levels when there’s suddenly none. Although the design of the levels leaves a lot to be desired, the decent, one might even say unique graphics make running through them an enjoyable aesthetic experience.

If PvP weren’t automated, ZAMP would be much better. To R2Games’ credit, this title doesn’t require the player to pay up to have a decent chance in becoming a top player; on the other hand, it doesn’t really make clear why a player would want to.

Zombies Monsters Robots

Zombies Monsters Robots

Zombies Monsters Robots (ZMR) is an amusingly self-conscious MMO third-person shooter with lots of zombies, monsters, robots and some laser-shooting dinosaurs as well.

ZMR features numerous game modes so excitement is constantly maxed out. It has intense combat and tactical gameplay—in some modes, at least—with cover-based shooting against ranged enemies. Players have to be careful as they have a limited ammo supply. There’s a multitude of maps, weapons and player models as well. You can play co-op or compete with others to meet countless waves of monsters or duke it out in a deathmatch. Weapons can be customized, and boss fights are quite random, making every encounter an adventure (or a nightmare, if you’re out of luck). Updates are released each month and feature ever more ridiculous monsters, like shark tornadoes or augmented orcs from World of Warcraft.

ZMR can be very enjoyable with friends, but when you get paired with high-level or paying players it gets challenging. Furthermore, ZMR encourages griefing as players can pick up ammo that isn’t theirs, and my, ammunition does appear to be rather scarce in this game.
