Brawl Busters
Brawl Busters is a fast-paced action MMO. Choose from five classes and jump into either single or multiplayer action. Brawl Busters features cartoony, vividly colored graphics and four game modes, including classic team deathmatch, free for all, and zombie survival. The combat is fast-paced and features both melee and ranged combatants. It’s easy to notice the game’s striking visual similarity to Team Fortress 2, but Brawl Busters is really different in terms of gameplay and classes, featuring picturesque maps and comic player models with weapons ranging from baseballs to boxing gloves and guitars. Servers are plentiful and always populated, making it convenient to escape for a 20 minute session of Brawl Busters during a break. The game is fun, works on older computers, and, altogether, the only complaint is the store bonuses which do favor players who pay up — but not too much.

DownWorld
DownWorld is a Flash-powered MMORPG, played in the browser. It features turn-based combat with a bejeweled twist. There are two classes, aptly named ‘caster’ and ‘breaker’. PvE gains experience and loot; PvP gains experience and ratings. What the game world lacks in story it makes up in social features and exploring -- the game world is quite sizable for a Flash game, and sports group combat for enhanced fun. DownWorld is actually quite fun, if you fancy the idea of multiplayer bejeweled. It is worth mentioning that the crafting system is well-developed, too.

Dream of Mirrors Online (aka DOMO) is a social, fantasy-themed MMORPG. DOMO has cute anime graphics with character outlines. The customization and class/job system is awesome. Not only can you choose from four races and thoroughly customize your character’s appearance -- there are also 12 classes which unlock at level 10, plus a sub-class later on. More than 6 crafting and gathering professions are available as well. Social functions are a big part of the game – friends, lovers, marriages, master/disciple relationships, and, of course, group quests. The social emphasis can, however, become daunting if you’re not much of a social gamer as playing with friends gives bonuses you can’t have otherwise. There’s also a PvP aspect to DOMO, but it’s only duels.

Dreamland Online
A 3D side-scrolling anime RPG adventure game. It is your choice to download the program or use the browser-based interface but I recommend playing through facebook due to the great job they did with integration. Browser-based play requires the install of the Kalydo plugin. If you are hip on A.I. companions, the game features a robust pet system. There are lots of player versus environment quests and plenty of player-versus-player combat if you are interested in turning it on. Start as a nondescript character. When you reach level ten you choose from one of four classes: Warrior, Archer, Magician, or Rogue. Each of the zones have different, pleasing fantasy-themed environments for your cartoon-shaded character.

3D browser-based dungeon building and raiding game developed using the Unity game engine (with a very neat dungeon design interface I might add). The game possesses both RPG and strategy elements. Your hero earns experience and acquires skills. Build your own dungeon and raid other player’s dungeons with friends or solo, fighting monsters in turn-based combat for loot that will help you improve your own dungeon. If any heroes die in your crib they’ll drop even more. Best to keep your dungeon monsters healthy and well trained.

Dungeon Fighter Online
Dungeon Fighter Online (for short, DFO) is a two-dimensional action MMO. Its graphics resemble old school goodies like Street Fighter, and DFO does involve intense combat like the former. There are six classes – slayer, fighter, gunner, mage, priest, and thief. Players can choose from four job advancements when they hit level 18, and players can also become class-champions at level 48. DFO has plenty of quests so there isn’t too much grinding, and there are numerous PvP instances in this game. The game’s strong points are the vast class/sub-class count and the easy, but fun combat that only gets better as you progress further in the game.
