Game of Thrones: Ascent
Game of Thrones is a Facebook strategy game set in the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' universe from George R. R. Martin’s book series. The player becomes a noble and swears fealty to one of the four houses from the book, and, my, the game lore is well developed indeed, with Tyrion Lannister being of course the wittiest advisor there is. Players build their encampments and progress through missions using Sworn Swords. There’s a reasonably complex skill system that depends on the player’s house, and players are free to branch out towards being either a ‘modern’ or a ‘truthful’ knight. Despite the fact that Game of Thrones is highly detailed, it certainly isn’t perfect: the social system adds some level of competition to the game, but that’s not enough to keep players interested in the long run. Plus, as in many such games, there’s the problem with building times that slowly become unbearably long.See Videos

Game of War: Fire Age
Game of War: Fire Age is a massively multiplayer mobile 2D game cut in the same cloth as Clash of Clans and Vikings: War of Clans. It's a base-building, empire-builder strategy game that's solely tilted to cooperative PvP. A mythical ancient Greece is the setting for this game, so expect similarly themed structures, units, and heroes from the period. The usual hallmarks of empire-builder games are present in Game of War: Fire Age. Players build structures, train troops, and wage wars against neighboring players. There's a hero customization system, equipment crafting mechanics and of course, an alliance system that facilitates massive team versus team warfare. War-loving gamers will feel right at home in this game. Like most free-to-play empire strategy titles, Game of War: Fire Age is a "love it or hate it" affair. It will ultimately require players to spend some cash to be truly competitive in the game. The game's alliance and PvP-centric gameplay might not appeal to solo and casual players, but strategy and war-freaks will enjoy what the game has to offer - provided they're willing to invest some moolah in it.See Videos

Ghost Recon Online
Ghost Recon Online (GRO) is an MMO tactical shooter developed by Ubisoft. It features three classes – Assault, Recon and Specialist -- that are defined by their game-changing abilities. There currently aren’t that many maps available, but the game is updated regularly and the graphics are nice if a bit outdated. The gameplay is slow, tactical and immensely fun with short bursts of intense action in the two available game modes. GRO is very much a team game, and lone wolfs are not only ineffective, but can jeopardize the success of the whole team. Ubisoft can sometimes disappoint with their interpretation of the free-to-play model, but that’s not the case here. Yes, grenades can only be bought for credits, but one can acquire them quite easily, plus weapon purchases are permanent.See Videos

Goal United is an online MMO which puts you in the role of a soccer club manager. You have to upgrade your stadium to host games, sign new players and trade away those who don’t fit in, sign deals with sponsors (you can even negotiate with them), and keep your players in top form to ensure you emerge victorious versus other football managers. The game is league-based -- each league consists of 10 teams. On the lower leagues, the three best teams get promoted to a higher league automatically. However, as your team gets better, you’ll have to battle neighboring league teams in the playoffs in order to reach a higher league. The game is beginner-friendly as there’s an awesome tutorial for newbies. GoalUnited’s details will keep you busy for weeks, as you can tweak every possible setting, player placement, etc. The game can, however, get somewhat slow for those who don’t purchase additional features.See Videos

Godfather: Five Families
The Godfather: Five Families is a browser-based, mafia-family-simulator/strategy MMO developed by Kabam. It’s set in the US after World War 2, and focuses on the five families from Mario Puzo’s book – the Tattaglia, Barzini, Corleone, Cuno, and Stracci families. The player gets to assume the role of a single family and build up its mansion and estates, join a crew of other players, raid rival gangs and fight for influence in NYC. The game is stylish -- from the background music to the game’s cutscenes and city visuals, the game looks and feels awesome. There’s always something to do in Godfather, as quests (jobs) and social opportunities are plentiful. If you’re a fan of the movies/books, Godfather will likely be an interesting game to you, due to the backstory and the beautiful depiction of the Godfather universe. For all others, it depends on gaming preferences.See Videos

Golden Age is a browser-based strategy MMO developed by Aeria Games. The game has some three factions, and classes are determined by your choice of skills. The setting is medieval fantasy. Golden Age is an interesting crossover between RPG and strategy, featuring elements of both. The strategy part involves your village, which you upgrade to gain resources, populate and nurture in a variety of ways. Relationships with other players are in the form of alliances. Golden Age’s RPG features include quests, leveling up, learning skills, acquiring items, and so on. In the end, though, the most important thing is your army, and that’s why it’s safe to say that Golden Age is at its core a strategy game – and it’s surprisingly fun for such an unconventional genre amalgam.See Videos

3D multiplayer golf. Use experience points to gain passive skills to increase your player’s attributes. There are slots in the user interface to place active skills just like you would use in a RPG. The game allows for thirty simultaneous users playing (in contrast to some older turn and stat-based games). There are five game modes, but don’t fret. All of them still involve playing golf.See Videos

Goodgame Empire is a browser-based MMO strategy game. Players progress through the story, manage their castle’s resources and expand its walls. The game boasts vibrant and colorful graphics, but the user interface can become quite unresponsive when there are lots of things on the screen. It’s pretty generic so far as MMO strategies go, but multiplayer features are where Goodgame Empire stands out. Forming alliances, declaring wars and gaining honor by attacking other players are the best things about this game. Furthermore, players can abstain from spending real money on the game altogether: it does punish you for that in the endgame, but playing can be quite enjoyable for non-paying members as well.See Videos

Grand Voyage (GV) is an RPG/Commerce game set in the Age of Exploration. Players start with a basic ship and slowly work their way towards obtaining new, sometimes fantastic means of transportation like the submarine of Jules Verne. The main activity in Grand Voyage is buying goods at one port and selling them off at another, which brings about much fun due to the game’s monetary system, resembling that of real markets. Now the downside. Battles and quests are automated; the story doesn’t stand a chance; the cluttered interface is scarcely legible. Historical accuracy can be found in word not in deed: for example, Athens was but a small village during the Age of Exploration, definitely no thriving port; furthermore, you can’t ‘explore uncharted waters’ as the ads tell you; etc. GV has some fun stuff for a casual title, but unless the topic really interests you there are better games to play.See Videos

Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2 is ArenaNet and NCSoft's sequel MMORPG to 2005's highly acclaimed Guild Wars online game. Set in the world of Tyria, a land of fantastical creatures and mysterious magicks, Guild Wars 2 takes place 250 years after the first installment, in a tumultuous period when the Elder Dragons have begun their reawakening. Together with the members of Destiny's Edge, a group of powerful adventurers, the player must face the incoming onslaught of the Elder Dragons and their hordes, and save Tyria from the brink of destruction. Guild Wars 2 features five playable races and nine distinct classes (professions) at character creation. There are no dedicated healer professions in the game, so players are encouraged to mix their party compositions to find the most suitable setup for an encounter. Combat in Guild Wars 2 is fast-paced, with an action-oriented slant. Players can evade attacks using a built-in dodge mechanic. Skills are profession-based and weapon-specific, though, players can switch to an alternate weapon during combat to access a different skill set. Players only have a limited number of skill slots, which is a refreshing change from the usual "skill pianos" (multiple hotkey bars) common in full-blown MMORPGs. PvE content is story-driven, with the player going through the story in their own unique way via the "Personal Story" system. Zones have timed "Dynamic Events" where players cooperate to complete specific objectives for rewards. World bosses spawn in certain maps as well, rewarding players with loot for a successful battle. Guild Wars 2's PvP comes in two forms - Structured PvP and World VS World. Structured PvP has different match types and gives participants equal access to top level equipment and skills to even the playing field. World VS World is an ongoing battle between three game servers that takes place in one massive battleground with multiple objectives. Overall, you can't go wrong in choosing to play Guild Wars 2. It's free to play (but you'll have to shell out cash to access the latest expansion content), has meaningful, story-driven PvE content and highly competitive PvP modes. It's very polished in all aspects and has a stable community of players in its following. Don't hesitate to give it a try if you're looking for a quality MMORPG that's worthy of your time and money.See Videos
